Fonts
All fonts should be turned to "outlines"
or "curves". If not, please include all fonts.
NOTE:
We have found that files saved with extensions or in applications
below with the fonts included or converted to "Outlines"
or "Curves"
have the lowest chance of encountering problems.

Photos/Images
Include
any photos or placed images that have links or embed them into the
file. Please be sure all placed images or photos are high resolution.
Please
be careful about photographic images used from the web; they are
generally low resolution and aren't acceptable as they will appear
highly pixelated when enlarges to print.
Raster
images (photographic or placed iamges) need to be no less than 150dps
with image at full size saved in RGB mode, but CMYK is acceptable.
These should be hi-resolution files
with large pixel depth (this is the pixel count). These types
of images will work well. However, these types of images come with
many variable and may need to be handled case-by-case for the type
of job printed. Consult the art department staff.

Freehand or Canvas files
Files
created in Free Hand or Canvas need to be saved as an .eps with
fonts converted to "Curves"
or "Paths".

Word, Power Point and Publisher files
Files
created in Microsoft Word, Power Point or Publisher can be opended,
but the art generally is not print ready. Art created in those programs
requires us to extract the information and place it in another,
like Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop. Any type, tables, clip-art,
placed images, or photos, when transferred generally have art recreation
or design layout issues to be corrected and would result in additional
art time fees.

AutoCad files
AutoCad
files saved with the .dxf extension are accepted, but please be
aware that adjustment may be necessary. For example, some fonts,
symbols, tables, arrows, layers, or dimensional objects in the file
may not transfer well. This wil lrequire additional design by Douglass
Screen Printers and would result in additional art time fees.

File Compression
If
file compression is necessary, "Win
Zip" or "Stuff
It" can be used.
