Vehicle Wrap Requirements
You can download a PDF
of these instructions <here>
Where
to start
We need good measurements and
quality photographs of
the vehicle or item we are wrapping!
First, you will need
to make an appointment
with your Douglass Screen Printers Customer Relations Associate
(CRA) to bring your vehicle or item that we are wrapping. Once you
have brought the vehicle or item on-site, we will take the picture
and measurements needed to complete the job.
If you are not a local
customer or if you are not located within reasonable driving distance,
we will need you to provide us with quality pictures
and accurate measurements of your item or vehicle.
Please remember
that the measurements you take must be accurate!
If you have a vehicle
between the years 1993 and 2006,
please contact your CRA to find out if your vehicle is listed in
our digital library. If it is, we will be able to use the measurement
data provided by our digital database. In this care, you will only
need to provide DSP with quality pictures of your item or vehicle
that is to be wrapped.
If you provide us
with the measurements needed, please be accurate. Remember, you
are still responsible for payment of this job should the measurements
you provide be incorrect.

Photos
This will be one of the most useful items to provide.
Please provide good quality photographs (digital preferred) of the
vehicle or item we are wrapping. Always try to take straight-on
shots of each side of the vehicle or item to be wrapped. Please
take the shot of each side in one frame if possible.

The should be complete and thorough, incorporating all key elements
of the vehicle:
- Overall
length
- Door
handles
- Wheel
wells
- Lights
- Placement
of markers
- Door
seams
- Body
seams
- ...and
so on

Basic Art requirements for Vehicle Wraps
If you are having DSP prepare art work, please provide
proper art elements and information to design the art correcty.
Please include all hi-resolution photos, illustrations or design
elements, as well as test and wording desired to be incorporated
into the design. Please work with your CRA in getting these items
organized properly.
When
providing digital files, please remember that hi-resolution photos
are absolutely necessary; photos are going to be scaled up many
times their original size. If hi-resolution files are not available,
DSP will do it's best to enhance the image. If the image is a low-resolution
image, or it is pixilated when scaled up, another photo may need
to be provided. A low-resolution or pixilated image may not show
clear quality when enlarged or scaled up.

Outside Agency
If an outside agency is providing art work to DSP,
please be sure they follow the Accepted
File Requirement Guidelines when
saving the art file. Please make sure that the art work is full
size, as well. If the art is scaled down proportionally, please
provide the scaled percentage used. Please remember that the agency
doing the art must provide hi-resolution art. An outside agency
is also responsible for placing the bleed on the art work; generally
2 inches on all sides is sufficient.

Color Matching
Special
colors are only possible if they are specified. Please include PMS
numbers whenever necessary. The DSP Creative Services team will
do their best to match the colors. However, not all colors
are reproducible when digitally printing th item.

Proofing
A
small sample color proof will be provided from the actual printer
that the image is being printed on, so that you will have a clear
concept of what the final product will be.
