We don’t sweat the
small stuff.
After all, we
do more small decals than just about anybody else, so
it’s second nature to us. In fact, we are one of the few
screen printers that can provide the detail and quality
our clients require.
Since 1994,
we have been honored to print the collectible mission
and crew patch decals for NASA. Though small in size,
these less than four-inch decals are highly prized by
the companies and individuals that support NASA’s space
program, and are often printed in eight to 12 colors and
translated into other languages.
Our more
down-to-earth products include numerous regulatory
decals
for such agencies as the Environmental Protection
Agency and all branches of the U.S. Military. We created
a park pass for Chattahoochee Park that was printed in
four-color process, face down with sequential numbers on
the back so that it couldn’t be altered, removed or put
onto another vehicle. The holographic decals for
Universal Studios are a must-have for park visitors,
while our Florida Lottery static-clings point players in
the winning direction.
Once
complete, many small format decals require the
painstaking process of intricate die cutting by hand or
mounting onto a surface for display. Douglass offers all
the finishing services in house to better expedite any
project. |
Challenge:
The U.S. Customs Service needed a “self-destruct” type
of decal that would be displayed on vehicles that had
clearance to cross our borders at security checkpoints.
Solution:
To prevent someone from removing the decal from their
vehicle and placing it on another, we developed a slit
pattern across the surface of the decal. This made it
impossible to take off and reattach, and helped the
Customs Service prevent unauthorized entry.
Now, that’s
a safe solution.
