DBE Will Add to Long List of Certifications Held at Douglass Screen Printers

June 04, 2010

LAKELAND, Florida -05/15/2010--Douglass Screen Printers has applied for certification to be recognized as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) by the U.S. Department of Transportation. This certification was created to ensure that small, disadvantaged business enterprises can compete fairly for federally funded transportation related projects. Women regardless of race qualify, as do other business owners who are citizens of the United States and are Black, Hispanic, Native American, Asian-Pacific Islander, Subcontinent Asian, or service disabled veterans. Douglass meets DBE qualifications as they are already certified as a WBE (woman-owned business enterprise). Certification as a DBE will give Douglass preferential access to state and federal DOT-funded contracts which include signage and graphics. DOT-funded contracts are issued to transit companies and airports, among others.

Douglass Screen Printers holds multiple certifications as a WBE and small business. In addition, they are regularly recognized as a top woman-owned and diversity-owned company at both the state and federal levels. They are listed as a Top 50 supplier to the US Government Printing Office.
