of Lakeland Asked to Join University of South Florida's Advisory

LAKELAND -- The University of South
Florida has asked Lisa Kaiser Hickey, owner and CEO of Douglass
Screen Printers, Inc., to join their Public Broadcasting Advisory
Council. Mrs. Hickey brings with her a long list of qualifications
and accomplishments. Mrs. Hickey began as a commercial artist at
Douglass Screen Printers in 1975. The left Douglass in 1981 when
she assumed production management of an Atlanta screen printing
company. Three years later Douglass Screen Printers rehired her
as Vice-President and CEO. In 1997, her 20th year with Douglass,
she assumed ownership of the company and became President and CEO.
As CEO, she has lead company expansion through market development,
financial management, technological advancement and strategic planning.
She has been responsible for mentoring and cultivating “Can Do!”
associates in accordance with the company’s vision, mission and
values.
As a near-native of Lakeland,
Mrs. Hickey has always been an important facilitator of community
involvement by being a member of various organizations such as Rotary
International, Lakeland Area Chamber of Commerce, the Lakeland Economic
Development Council, the Lakeland Metro Chapter of the NAWBO to
name a few. Her recent political interests include service on the
campaign committees for Philip Walker, County Commissioner and Bush-Cheney
’04. Mrs. Hickey serves as National Vice President for Corporate
and Economic Development for the NAWBO and is a director on the
boards of the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce, the Trustees of First
United Methodist Church, and the Lakeland Metro Chapter of NAWBO.
She has recently completed a three year term on the Lakeland Chamber
of Commerce Small Business Awards Committee and served on the White
House Steering Committee for the 2003 Tampa area Summit on Women’s
Entrepreneurship in the 21st Century. Mrs. Hickey is the only woman
business owner member of the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce Chairman’s
Circle. She has recently been featured in Entrepreneur’s Exchange
magazine, the New York Times, USA Today, the Specialty and Graphic
Imaging Association Tabloid, and the NAWBO branded book From Employee
to Entrepreneur.
The University of South
Florida welcomes Mrs. Hickey as a new member of the University’s
Advisory Council and is looking forward to a rewarding relationship.
