Arts on the Park Winners

The winners have been
announced for the Florida Southern Art Show at Arts on the Park
in Lakeland.
Best in show: Samuel Romero for "Untitled." Award of excellence:
Kelli DeLach for "Figure on the Grass."
Merit Awards: Nicole Kita, "Untitled;" Lucy Kleine, "Self
Portrait;" Taryn Hommel, "Still Life."
Honorable mentions: Danielle Van Cola, "Untitled;" Bradley
Cullimore, "Untitled;" Carolyn Collier, "Self Portrait;" Sean
Rhorer, "Creating a Captive Market."
Joe Geiger, who earned a master's of fine art from the
University of South Florida was judge.
ART LOGO
"I'm a Red Hatter, Honey" is a logo created and designed by My
Gallery Art Cottage artist Barbara Ann Robertson of Winter
Haven.
The logo was created for members and friends of the Red Hat
Society. The design for notepapers, small framed works and
magnets show a pink flamingo on the beach, wearing a red hat and
purple attire. Robertson's works are available at the Cypress
Gardens Gallery and My Gallery Art Cottage. Call 2942350 for

SWANSATION
This is another in a series of profiles of the Swansation
sculptures on display around Lakeland, which will be auctioned
April 25.

Swan: Swan d'Art
Location: Munn Park
Artist: Marjorie Lewis
Sponsor: Douglass Screen Printers
Of Interest: The base of the swan represents the World Trade
Center bombing. On the swan, there is written a quote from one
of the ground-zero firefighters, "Use the arts to heal your
hearts."
Swan: Don't Count Your Swans Before They Hatch
Location: Cedar & Kentucky Avenue.
Artist: Bonnie Sprung
Sponsor: NCT Group, CPAs
Of Interest: The swan is decorated in the theme of its sponsor,
a CPA firm. It features an adding machine tape wrapping the
swan. The base has gold coins and the eyes are dollar signs.
CAST LIST
The cast list has been set for the Oasis Theatre Department
production of "The Real Inspector Hound," to be performed at 7
p.m. March 15 at Oasis Community Church, corner of Oak Street
and South Florida Avenue, Lakeland.
The actors and their roles include:

Mesrobian is directing the show, with Tonya Mesrobian as
production manager. Mary Westerman is handling props and
costumes.
