Company History: A Family Tradition to this Day
In
1939, just as the Great Depression was beginning to fade, Leroy
J. Douglass took a chance and opened a small sign shop near
Lakeland, Florida.
Hand-lettered signs were the fare of the day. Never one to
settle for status quo, Leroy and his handful of skilled and
devoted employees began experimenting with screen-printing – the
"high-tech" process of the era.
Years
later, Leroy offered full ownership of the business to his
protégé, Tom Kaiser, who unfailingly provided leadership that
emphasized honesty, integrity, and putting customers first.
Lisa Kaiser Hickey eventually took over her father's role as
President and CEO, and began leading DSP through an era of
constantly changing technology.
Today,
DSP employs a close-knit family of more than 35 artists,
printers and support personnel, who produce award-winning print
jobs in the company's 30,000 square-foot facility. By
maintaining the most advanced computers, scanners, plotters,
presses and printers available, DSP offers customers quality,
consistency, and competitive prices. See for yourself how family
values, community pride and our "Can-Do!" spirit make Douglass
Screen Printers the company you'll want to call for your next
print job.
